The Power of a Praying Woman
6. Value wisdom above all. “Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; love her, and she will keep you” (Proverbs 4:5-6). 7. Walk in obedience. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly” (Proverbs 2:7). 8. Be humble. “When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom” (Proverbs 11:2). 9. Love your neighbor. “He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his peace” (Proverbs 11:12). 10. Seek the wisdom of God, not the wisdom of the world. “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sancti?cation and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30). “Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe” (1 Corinthians 1:20-21).
Ten Good Reasons to Ask for Wisdom
1. To enjoy longevity, wealth, and honor. “Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor” (Proverbs 3:16). 2. To have a good life. “Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace” (Proverbs 3:17). 3. To enjoy vitality and happiness. “She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her” (Proverbs 3:18). 4. To secure protection. “Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble” (Proverbs 3:23).
