meet hayley stell
Owner and Photographic Genius of Hayley Stell Photography, recently had a gorgeous bundle of joy Lennon. I wanted You to get to know her and her fantasitc family.
Did you always want to become a photographer?
I always had this distant dream of becoming a photographer but I need thought that it would happen. I went to college for graphic design and thought after graduation I would be working in the corporate graphic design world but God had other plans for me, and soon after college I met my husband. We moved to Tennessee and after interviewing for some corporate jobs I decided that a cubicle wasn't the place for me. With endless support from my husband I am now living and working my dream job.
How are you handling busy mom life and being a business owner?
Its crazy how much your life perspective changes once you have kids! My business is still incredibly important to me, but since having Lennon my family time is what I cherish most. When baby cuddles are wanted, emails can wait. When we go for a walk, I don't check my phone. Its just a new perceptive of being in the moment with him, and focusing on his little milestones rather than engulfing myself in my work like I used to. I find time for my business between nap times but most of the time my little assistant can be found nursing or sitting on my lap or in a bouncer under my foot as I work most times or in the tula while I photograph clients.
My favorite quote about work and children is this:
Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work. C.S. Lewis
