Shawcross–
The Inside View
T
he skipper Ryan
Shawcross is interviewed ahead of
todays game against Manchester United.
“So Ryan, what do you think
today will bring?”
“ Well, it’s the same with
any game Geoff, a win, 3
points. Obviously we’re
against a tough opposition
that have come of the back of
a win, so they will be confident, we’re hoping to end that
run and gain the Potters 3
points, we know the fans will
be behind us as usual, and
were hoping to deliver for
them.”
“ And.. How are you planning
on doing that?”
“Hopefully, same
as the Man City
win, obviously we
have never beat
both Manchester
clubs in one season, but with the
pace on the wings
with the likes of
Diouf and Moses we will be
hoping to break that record.”
“Coming off the football now,
you’ve been linked
with many clubs,
higher than Stoke,
have you
c o ns i d ered
these
moves
or are you
devoted to
Stoke?”
“Well, I have
been linked
with
some
clubs, but I
wouldn’t call
them high-
er, we achieve what we can and
try our best to be like those
teams, and one day we will be,
hopefully. Our squad is getting
stronger, good players are
coming in, and as you’ve seen
better results are being produced. I am devoted to the club,
I have 2 years left on my contract, we will see what happens
when that ends, Stoke is a great
city, everybody is friendly and I
have no reason to leave, But we
will see what the future brings.”
“ So the last game you played
with you former club, you got
into a bit of a bust up with their
main man van Persie, is that
feud going to continue?”
“ No, I am a payed footballer,
not a fighter, we spoke after
the game and put it behind us,
we are both professional and
we both agreed what is said on
the pitch, stays on the pitch.”
“Thankyou for your time Ryan”
“No problem,”
