ACADEMICS : Eastwood ’ s curriculum centers on developing thinking , articulate students . A study of history , literature , science , mathematics , philosophy , Latin theology , grammar , logic , and rhetoric emphasizes not just facts , but also wisdom . The reading of great literature with writing assignments focused on literary and historical analysis help cultivate powerful minds . Seniors culminate their classical training by defending a 15- page thesis and giving senior speeches .
ATHLETICS : Eastwood students participate in cross country , volleyball , basketball , tennis , trap & skeet , and baseball .
MUSIC / FINE ARTS : Music and art appreciation enhance the upper school and grammar school curriculum . Drama and art classes are incorporated into the classroom and additional opportunities are made available on campus after school . Each year Eastwood hosts the AISA district art show and two school musicals . Grammar school students can perform in the Christmas play . Upper school students perform in the spring musical , as well as give recitations at events such as “ Shakespeare in the Park .”
COLLEGE PREP : Nearly 100 % of students go on to a four-year college and ECS graduates have matriculated to over 30 colleges and universities .
