LAMP STUDENTS HONORED IN NATIONAL RECOGNITION PROGRAM
The College Board has honored 15 LAMP students through its National Recognition Program . Students must take eligible administrations of the PSAT / NMSQT , PSAT 10 , or AP Exams to be considered for awards . Students must also identify as African American / Black , Hispanic / Latinx , Indigenous , or attend high school in a rural area or small town . While there is no scholarship attached , the recognition can be included in college and scholarship applications . The winners of the African American Recognition Award are Erin Robinson , Kennedi Hawkins , Morgan Washington , Doris Davis , Jazlyn Samples , Logan Boone , Danielle Williams , Latalya Bryant , Ethan Farrior , Lauryn Tubbs , Nafissatou Ndoye , Maia Mckinney , and Cidni McClain . The winners of the Hispanic Recognition Award are Agustin Lemuz and Brandon Henriquez .
MADISON THRAILKILL SELECTED AS PRATTVILLE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY ’ S GIRLS STATE REPRESENTATIVE
Madison Thrailkill represented Prattville Christian Academy at the 2022 American Legion Auxiliary Alabama Girls State session earlier this summer . This week-long leadership program is focused on teaching responsible citizenship , leadership , and love for God and country . Rising female high school seniors are competitively selected and sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary to participate in a mock political process of electing officials for all levels of state government and actively running a government as a part of the " Federalist Party " or " Nationalist Party ." While attending Girls State on the campus of Troy University , Madison enjoyed learning from various leaders essential to Alabama ' s government , including Senator Katie Britt , Alabama ' s State Treasurer Young Boozer , a previous adviser to the Attorney General , and Governor Kay Ivey .
LEAD ACADEMY LAUNCHES CAPITAL CAMPAIGN WITH KICKOFF EVENT
LEAD Academy kicked off their capital fundraising campaign on September 20th . The night demonstrated to community members the need for the funds and the value of investing in LEAD Academy to pave the way for scholars today . The event featured a display of campaign materials , a tour of the school , and a time to hear from Erik Estill , LEAD ’ s Executive Director , as well as food and light refreshments . The goal of the capital campaign is to raise $ 500,000 over one year to further develop the school to have the facilities and supplies necessary to continue to offer a high-quality and innovative education for their scholars . The money raised will be used specifically for new classroom supplies , a new STEAM lab , a new playground , a preschool building , and a parking lot .
MONTGOMERY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL CELEBRATES 15 YEARS
MCS opened its doors to ten Kindergartners in Fall 2007 . As the years progressed , students and grades were purposefully added to complete the K-5 elementary school . Now serving 99 students at 3265 McGehee Road , MCS has been partnering with parents to educate students with rigorous , Christcentered academics for 15 years . MCS is thriving because of the Lord ’ s provision , the students and staff ’ s diligence , the Board ’ s dedication , and their partners ’ generosity . The school held a cupcake party and pep rally on September 15th to celebrate .
