Seara lives by these words: “If everybody likes you, then you’re
doing something wrong. Be your own self, and stay optimistic.”
her story
Seara is determined to make sure she’s getting the most out of
her school career, and is already making strides to succeed in
college. She is dually enrolled in the University of Alabama’s
Early College, and is an ambassador for the program. At her
high school, Seara is involved in the Future Business Leaders of
America, the National Technical Honor Society, and Yearbook
Committee. She is both an ambassador and a peer leader for
her school. When asked how she wanted to be remembered,
Seara responded, “I’d like to be remembered from high school
as being the student who was a go-getter, hard worker, confi-
dent, and someone who lightens up any room with joy. I want
to be successful, and I know that it may be a hard journey, but
it’ll all be worth it in the end.”
what’s next
“I live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and there isn’t much for kids
my age to do. Most of the structures that are built are geared
towards college students. Therefore, I’d like to become an entre-
preneur with a business for teens.”

PG (parental guidance) rating
Seara credits her mother with encouraging her to be her best
and never give up on her goals. She adds, “What makes me
proud about myself is how driven I am, and that’s thanks to my
family for always pushing me.”

parents’ perspective
Venus and Sherman admire Seara for “always having a positive
attitude.”
parent-to-parent
Venus shares, “My advice to other parents would be to
let kids be themselves, and to give constructive criticism
when the need arises.”
