Stay focused on what truly matters to God.” She wants to be remembered as a servant—a kind, loving, determined girl who looks after people's needs before her own. what’s next daphne swavely Eastwood Christian School Daphne wants to be a linguist and do mission work. “I would love to travel to unreached places, learn their language and translate the Bible into that language. I hope to bring con- nection and education to people who have none. I wish to be educated in turn by these foreign people.” Daphne’s interest in missions was sparked after her sister went on a mission trip to Jordan in 2017. Daphne’s youth pastor and his wife have truly inspired her to live a life honoring God. PG (parental guidance) rating Daphne stated, “I love my family's ability to adapt. Due to being a military family, we have moved quite a few times. However, this has only made us closer. We see the changes that are to come, digest the information, then proceed with the best plan from there. We work like a well-oiled machine, and it makes life seem so simple.” parents’ perspective Renée and Allyn shared, “Daphne is our deep-thinker, deci- sion-maker. When she hears a new idea/concept, she will ponder it, analyze it, then out of the blue, she will share an observation or conclusion that she has on the idea. She really rolls an idea around in her brain to think of all angles or arguments. We admire Daphne’s personality trait as a mediator and encourager. She values relationships and friendships and will work to help others reconcile relationships as well.” parent-to-parent The Swavely family shared, “We would offer this advice to others—keep your kiddos grounded! Hard work and dedication to a job well done will go a long way in this world.” Teen Spotlights are eligible for a $500 Scholarship - Nomination forms at www.potentialmagazine.com/spotlights www.potentialmagazine.com Spring 2020 | L23
