this day possible.
MONTGOMERY ACADEMY STUDENTS EXCEL
IN REGIONAL STOCK MARKET SIMULATION
Two Economics students in Dr. Scott Morris’ class at The
Montgomery Academy placed in the Alabama Council on Economic
Education’s regional stock market game. The game is a real-time
simulation of the actual stock market, offering the opportunity to
invest $100,000 in virtual currency. Jennings Lawson came in third,
with gains of 15.1%, winning a $100 cash prize, and Bryant McClendon
came in fifth, with gains of 14.6%, winning a $50 cash prize.
MONTGOMERY CATHOLIC
STUDENTS DONATE NEARLY
7,000 CANNED GOODS FOR
THE HOLIDAYS
According to www.feedingamerica.org,
one out of every six people in the state of
Alabama struggles with hunger, including
one in four children. The Society of St.
Vincent De Paul, a Catholic lay organization,
hopes to alleviate the suffering of the most
vulnerable among us through works of
charity, especially those who are hungry.
Each fall, they hold a food drive to bring
much-needed nourishment to needy families
during the holiday season. The students at
Montgomery Catholic helped the Society
of St. Vincent De Paul by collecting nearly
7,000 canned and non-perishable food items,
which were sorted distributed throughout the
community just in time for Thanksgiving.
