BREWTECH TEAMS COMPETE AT VEX WORLDS TOURNAMENT
Two Brewbaker Technology Magnet High robotics teams competed at the 2022 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas , Texas . There were over 810 robots and 20,000 students and parents attending the event from around the world . BrewTech ’ s two teams competing were 4828-W , featuring Travis Karvwnaris ; Braden Chambless ; Ashley Tiblier ; and Robert Parker ; and team 4828-S with Mason Hatch ; Jacob Young ; Aiden Gutierrez ; and Marcus Causey . Out of 83 robots in each of their divisions , 4828-W ranked 43rd , and 4828-S ranked 63 out of 81 robots in their division .
TWO TEAMS REPRESENT MONTGOMERY CATHOLIC AT THE VEX ROBOTICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Montgomery Catholic had 2 teams make it to the 2022 VEX Robotics World Championships in Dallas , TX this year . These students have been incredibly driven , spending countless hours perfecting their robot ' s design and programming to compete on the world stage . Through hard work and prayers before every match , the Middle School team went 9-1 in qualifying and made it to the round of 16 . The Middle School team consisted of Gavin Cummins , Bennett Webb , Tye Rountree , Lucy Logsdon , Erik Ojala , and Will Tarkowski . The High School team finished the tournament 25th out of 81 teams and consisted of Turner Clements and Hunter Dailey .
SAINT JAMES SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD SEND NINE ATHLETES TO STATE
Saint James School Track and Field had nine athletes qualify for the State Meet in Gulf Shores , Alabama . This was held on May 5-7 , 2022 . Qualifying athletes were Marley Beard , Hannah Richardson , Carson Beck , Lucas Huckabee , Connor Owens , Preston Phillips , Dylan Holt , Dylan Stokes , and Ariel July . From this group , the Trojans had a number of athletes who received medals or were a finalist in his / her event . Connor Owens placed first is Discus . Lucas Huckabee placed 2 nd in Discus and Shotput . Marley Beard was a state finalist in the Girls 100-meter Dash . Hannah Richardson was a finalist in the 400 and 800-meter Run events . The team of Dylan Holt , Dylan Stokes , Ariel July , and Preston Phillips were finalists in the Boys 4x800 event .
