FIND THE RIGHT FIT
COLLEGE OFFERINGS & CAMPUS TOURS
To get the most out of your campus visits and tours, create a list of questions
you need to have answered and the “must-haves” you’re looking for in a college.
Mark the areas that are important to you:
On-campus housing Clubs and activities
Greek life Diversity
Football games Meal plans
Fitness centers/gym Class size
Off-campus transportation Internship opportunities
Option to have a car on campus Study abroad opportunities
Driving distance from home Honors programs
Small-town atmosphere Student-friendly worship services
Safety measures on campus
Tip for Parents: Colleges will correspond
via email. Set up a family email address that
students and parents can easily access, so no
important information is missed. Choose the
address carefully–colleges will often use
inappropriate email addresses as a way to
eliminate scholarship candidates.

COUNSELORS:
They are your number one resource.
They will remind you of deadlines,
answer questions, and connect you
with the right people. Plus: Many sit on
scholarship boards!
GET NOTICED!
50% of colleges report that a
student’s demonstrated interest in
the school is highly important in the
admissions process. Students can
show interest by:
• Participating in a campus tour.
• Writing thank-you notes.

Fridays are the busiest days.

to see where you’ll be living if
you choose the school.
8 Use your “Campus Scorecard” to
