MYDUNDEE
My Dundee is the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), which gives you access
to the module materials, valuable study resources such as discussion boards and electronic versions of the handbook, as well as a wide range of resources to support your studies. It is essential that you make sure that you are able to log in to My Dundee at the start of your degree using the username and password that will be sent to you on your commencement. This username and password is also used for accessing library resources, eVision and University email. Logging in is straightforward – https://my.dundee.ac.uk/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp then login with your username and password (which is the same as your e mail username and password).
SNM Post qualifying Students will be listed left under ‘My Groups and Communities’. This
area contains generic information about post graduate study.
UNIVERSITY EMAIL University regulations state that any e-mail communication relating to your studies should be exclusively via the University email system. You are expected to access your university email at least once a week, and preferably more – it is the way in which we communicate important information to you, for instance, changes to modules or assessment procedures. Communication from personal email addresses may be filtered out as spam or unwanted email. As a University of Dundee student, you will be granted access to the University’s email system, and allocated a University of Dundee email address upon enrolment. Microsoft provides the University’s e-mail system and each student has 10GB of storage space available to them. The following features and benefits are attached to the use of your University email address; • • • The email system is fully supported by the University for all students and staff Your University email is accessible from any computer with internet access The University e-mail system is used to communicate University wide news and information to all students. The University has spam software to filter out unwanted email. Using the University email system gives you access to e-mail addresses of fellow students and staff – personal address books are also easy to build and use. A calendar function is also included.
