Postgraduate Programme Handbook Feb 2013 may be at Level 9/10); the Postgraduate Diploma requires 120 credits (90 of which must be at Level 11 and 30 may be at Level 9/10); and the MSc requires 180 credits (150 of which must be at Level 11 and 30 may be at Level 9/10). Each award must include successful completion of all the modules and other assessed work required for that award. The Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or MSc will be awarded as appropriate on satisfactory completion of the assessed components of the programme including, a dissertation of 20000 words on a topic chosen with the approval of the Dissertation Coordinator in conjunction with the appropriate Postgraduate Academic Facilitator.
PROGRESS All modules are summatively assessed. Candidates are required to pass every element or combination of elements of each summative assessment. Candidates will normally be given one opportunity to retrieve any failed assessment. Any candidate who has failed an assessment following the retrieval attempt will be referred to the Board of Examiners and may be required to discontinue studies from the programme. All such candidates referred will have the right of appeal. Candidates cannot progress to the MSc award, without having successfully completed the requirements for the award of Diploma.
