Undergraduate Programme Handbook Aug 2013
GUIDANCE NOTES ON COMPLETION OF MITIGATING CIRCUMSTANCES FORM
All requests for consideration of mitigating circumstances must be submitted on Form LT2
Notification of mitigating circumstances may only be made at the time of, or in advance of, submission of assignments or sitting examinations. They may not be submitted retrospectively, including at time of appeal.
The form must be accompanied by evidence to support the circumstances. Letters from solicitors or local councils; hospital appointment cards; statements from health / social care professionals are examples of acceptable evidence.
The form should include an outline of the circumstances and a short statement of how the circumstances impacted on completion of the assignment / preparation for examination. It is not sufficient simply to give details. You need to explain how the circumstances affected the assignment. Include any relevant dates e.g. bereavement, diagnosis.
Refer to your programme handbook for further information on the School’s mitigating circumstances policy.
