STUDENT accommodation.
Our compact city is a great place to live and study. With a huge range of student accommodation, Portsmouth is packed with places for students to call home.
Privately rented shared houses and flats
Many postgraduate students choose to live independently in the city or surrounding areas. The most popular spot is Southsea. Friendly and lively, it’ s close to campus and the beach.
Expect to pay around £ 115 –£ 140 per week for a room in a shared flat or house and extra for food and bills. Lodgings, where the landlord lives on the premises, are usually also around £ 110 –£ 150 per week but include bills.
Once you’ ve secured your accommodation, our Student Housing Team can offer a contract checking service to ensure everything is in place before you move into your new home.
A hall that feels like home
Enjoy living in halls that are woven into the heart of Portsmouth, around the buildings of our campus. You’ re as close to the University Library as you are to city centre amenities. And when you need a break from studying, it’ s only a short walk to the beach, or you can take advantage of Portsmouth’ s great transport links if you want to go further afield.
Alternatively, our recently refurbished Langstone Halls offer you the choice of a living space away from the city centre and even closer to natural beauty.
We offer self-contained studio flats located in various halls of residence. These are prioritised for new mature and postgraduate students. Or, if you prefer, you can opt for a shared flat if you’ d like to get to know other students. Prices range from £ 115 –£ 215 per week.
We guarantee all new full-time postgraduate students a place in halls, provided you make us your firm first choice and meet any accommodation deadlines.
