Entry Requirements
Fees To study at Monash University Malaysia, you’ ll need to pay tuition fees to the University. Tuition fees vary depending on the course and the year of commencement. All tuition fees and course durations specified in this guide are in Malaysian Ringgit and only apply to courses studied at the Malaysian campus. Annual tuition fees quoted are for 48 credit points and are applicable to courses commencing in 2025. Tuition fees for courses commencing in 2026 will be different. Monash University Malaysia reserves the right to adjust the annual tuition fees in future years of your course. Any adjustment will be applied on the first day of January each year.

• C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency: overall score of 162 with no score lower than 154; or
• IELTS( Academic)/ IELTS One Skill Retake( Academic)/ IELTS Online: overall score of 5.5 with no band lower than 5.0; or
• TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Paper Edition: overall score of 46, with a minimum score of 14 in writing, score of 14 in speaking, score of 4 in reading and score of 4 in listening; or
• PTE Academic: overall score of 42, with no score lower than 36.
For Master of Biotechnology as destination degree:
• C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency: overall score of 169 with no score lower than 169; or
• IELTS( Academic)/ IELTS One Skill Retake( Academic)/ IELTS Online: overall score of 6.0 with no score lower than 6.0; or
• TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Paper Edition: overall score of 60, with a minimum score of 21 in writing, score of 18 in speaking, score of 13 in reading and score of 12 in listening; or
• PTE Academic: overall score of 50, with no score lower than 50.
Any other qualifications or requirements recognised by Monash University and the Malaysian Government.
• C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency: overall score of 169 with no band lower than 162; or
• IELTS( Academic)/ IELTS One Skill Retake( Academic)/ IELTS Online: overall score of 6.0 with with no band lower than 5.5; or
• TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Paper Edition: overall score of 60, with a minimum score of 18 in writing, score of 16 in speaking, score of 8 in reading and score of 7 in listening; or
• PTE Academic: overall score of 50 with with no band lower than 42.
The 10-week program is not applicable as a pathway to the Master of Biotechnology. Any other qualifications or requirements recognised by Monash University and the Malaysian Government.

Entry level 2: 72 points to complete( Duration: 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time)
• An Australian bachelor degree( or equivalent) in a cognate 2 discipline with at least a credit( 60 %) average; or
• An Australian bachelor degree( or equivalent) and an Australian graduate certificate( or equivalent) in a cognate 2 discipline with at least a 50 % average in both qualifications 3
• Meet the English language requirements of the University( Monash English is accepted).
Entry level 3: 48 points to complete( Duration: 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time)
• An Australian bachelor honours degree( or equivalent) in a cognate 2 discipline with at least a credit( 60 %) average

Additional selection criteria Applicants will be expected to provide a Curriculum Vitae and reference from their employer to be assessed for relevant work experience as part of the application process. An employee would generally be required to undertake work that requires a level of autonomy and accountability. • An Australian bachelor’ s degree( or equivalent), at least a credit 57.5 % average or an equivalent GPA in a non-cognate discipline, at least a minimum of one year of working experience 5, and subject to rigorous internal assessment, or

• An Australian bachelor honours degree, or an equivalent qualification, in a cognate discipline with a minimum credit 57.5 % average

• An Australian undergraduate degree( or equivalent) with a distinction( 70 %) average or above in 24 points of studies at level three in the relevant area of business; or
• Minimum average grade of 60 % of a postgraduate degree in the relevant area of business; and
• Meet the English language requirements of the University.
• A bachelor’ s degree with a minimum upper H2B( a mark of 65 or above) in an honours year in a relevant field, or its equivalent; or
• Qualifications which in the opinion of the Graduate Research Committee are deemed equivalent or a satisfactory substitute.

• An Australian 4-year bachelor’ s degree( or equivalent) in engineering, in a discipline related to the chosen specialisation within the Master’ s course, as approved by the Faculty, with at least a credit( 60 %) average.

• A degree in Bachelor of Engineering with upper H2B( a mark of 65 or above) in an honours year in a relevant field; or
• Qualifications or experience that Graduate Research Committee considers to be equivalent to, or a satisfactory substitute for, the above.
