Media and Communication MA

Keep ahead of the trend and stand out from the competition by adding depth and breadth to your existing knowledge base .
Analyse the current and historic effects of media on society , and learn about how traditional and new media can be used to communicate different messages . Combine cultural , historical and industry-specific analysis with theoretical study , and develop a deeper critical understanding of the media too .
Study a range of political , industry-based , and text-based approaches to media and its communication strategies , in film , television , magazines , newspapers , fiction , graphic novels and comics . Understand the important themes in the media industry , including digital media , screenwriting , fandom and adaptation .
Test your creativity , by producing screenplays and TV scripts . Research , analyse and critique film , television , screen media and print media outputs . Undertake an optional , self-sourced media micro-placement to provide you with practical experience and insight and give your skillset that extra competitive edge .

Forensic Psychology MSc

Advance your career in the criminal justice system , or train to become a qualified forensic psychologist .
Apply what you learned through your undergraduate psychology studies to the field of offender behaviour . Connect clinical , social and cognitive psychology with criminology and law . Address the major issues concerning the justice system in relation to individuals , organisations , and society .
Learn from the largest group of actively researching forensic psychology academics in the UK , and complete a research project on a topic of your choice . Use our specialist facilities for interview observation including eye-tracking and digital analysis . Study themes include professional competence , assessment and interventions with offenders , and investigative psychology and the legal process .
Graduate able to apply your knowledge in a range of contexts , from criminal investigations to welfare , wellbeing and rehabilitation . Fulfil the first of 2 stages of training required to become a Chartered and Registered Forensic Psychologist .
