Entry requirements
An upper second class honours degree with RIBA Part 1 exemption . Applicants who do not hold a recognised UK Part 1 qualification will need to undertake and pass the ARB prescribed exam for Part 1 prior to joining the course . All applicants must have an acceptable Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics .
An interview and / or online portfolio submission may be required as part of the selection process .

The payment of this course fee is covered by the Government and , in some cases , your employer . This means there ’ s no cost to you as the degree apprentice .
Accreditation : This course is prescribed and recognised by the Architects Registration Board ( ARB ) and validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects ( RIBA ).
Architect Degree Apprenticeship ( Master of Architecture and Professional Practice ) MArch
Drive forward your architecture career , gaining the qualifications needed to become an ARB-registered architect while still earning a salary .
Develop professional and creative skills , covering topics such as urbanism , landscape , sustainability and culture in a studio environment . Apply your skills and gain further practical experience , spending four days a week in your workplace , giving you an advantage over students who go to University full time .
Learn how to come up with creative and strategic solutions to a variety of architectural challenges and gain further professional knowledge from our network of visiting lecturers . Benefit from top-class facilities in this studio-based course , including our Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality ( CCIXR ) – the UK ’ s first integrated facility for virtual , augmented , and extended realities . Gain parts 2 and 3 of exemptions on this RIBA accredited course .

Architecture MA
Become an alternative architecture specialist and tailor your studies to graduate with an exit award that fits your career ambitions : Building and Heritage Conservation , Landscape and Urban Design , or Spatial Design Practices .
Develop proficiency in architectural design by learning in a unique studio-based environment . Enjoy many opportunities to put your new design , professional and technical skills into practice – from collaborating with local and regional bodies on live projects , to taking part in work-based learning opportunities and community-led projects .
Choose to specialise in one of three pathways :
Landscape and Urban Design : explore new systemic and integrated solutions for cities and landscapes , and lay the foundations for more robust , sustainable environments .
Spatial Design Practices : explore spatial theories in architecture and arts practice , including those focussed on resilience and climate change , and apply them to rural , urban and heritage environments .
Building and Heritage Conservation ( IHBC accredited ): gain theoretical knowledge and professional experience in historic building conservation and adaptive reuse .

If studying full time , you can expect to be on campus for one studio day and one half-day per week . If studying part time , you can expect to be on campus one studio day per week in year 1 and one half-day per week in year 2 .

Entry requirements
Individual employers will set the A good honours degree in a relevant subject such as Architecture , Interior Architecture , Landscape Architecture , Urban Design , Civil Engineering , Building Surveying , Geography , Spatial Practices , Fine Art or another designrelated subject . Equivalent professional experience and / or qualifications will also be considered .
