Doctor of Philosophy ( PhD ) is a globally recognised postgraduate degree involving extensive and original research into a specific chosen field , typically over three years full time or six years part time .

I want to be at the forefront of my industry , as well as achieve the education requirements for chartership . Portsmouth is one of the few universities where my course is professionally accredited .

JOSHUA MASON

Professional Doctorate is for advanced upskilling and career building . It is globally recognised proof that you ’ ve reached the highest level of professional and academic achievement in your field . You ’ ll complete your doctorate while continuing your career , conducting applied practiceoriented research .

PhD by Publication is based on the research you ’ ve already carried out and usually consists of several peer-reviewed publications or other materials , plus a substantial commentary on your work as a whole – this is in place of a traditional thesis .

BUILDING INFORMATION MANAGEMENT MSc

Doctor of Medicine ( MD ) is for qualified medical professionals who want to earn a research degree . From lab-based to qualitative research methods , you ’ ll draw on your clinical expertise .
