Step 1 Check your eligibility
You ’ ll need to have met the minimum entry requirements for graduate research . Check that you have the necessary academic qualifications and English language profiency , and are at least 17 years of age at the time of enrolment . Please contact the respective school ’ s Research Management Office for additional faculty-based requirements .

Step 2 Find your supervisors
Graduate research degrees involve the independent investigation of a research problem formulated in consultation with a minimum of two supervisors . Visit the school ’ s website ( available in Step 1 ) to start searching for potential supervisors .
Step 3 Submit your Expression of Interest
Once you have identified supervisors in the research area of your choice , submit the Expression of Interest ( EOI ) form and the supporting documents as specified . Please reach out to the respective school ’ s Research Management Office for a copy or link to the form .
Step 4 Receive an invitation to apply
If your EOI is successful , you ’ ll receive an invitation to apply for a research degree .
The Research Management Office receives a high volume of enquiries from potential students and it may take up to four weeks to process your EOI .
Step 5 Prepare your documentation
When completing your application , you ’ ll be asked to upload copies of documents which include at least :
• academic curriculum vitae
• academic transcripts
• proof of citizenship
• proof of meeting the University ’ s English language proficiency requirement
• referee reports
• research proposal .
Step 6 Lodge a formal application
You ’ re ready to submit your application once you have an invitation to apply and supporting documents .
If you wish to be considered for a competitive , merit-based scholarship simply indicate this on the application form . There is no need to submit a separate application form . For more information on the scholarships available , please get in touch with the respective school ’ s Research Management Office .

Log in and complete your personal profile
Create a new , copy an existing application
Complete the English proficiency section
Complete the research program section
Complete qualifications , research experience , referees and publications sections
Complete the additional sections as determined by your chosen course
Complete the miscellaneous documents and curriculum vitae sections
Validate and submit the application
Step 7 Your application is assessed
Applications can take between six to eight weeks to process . Once the assessment process is complete you will be formally notified of the outcome . If you have applied for a scholarship , your school ’ s Research Management Office will get in touch with you .
Step 8 Accept your offer
If you receive an offer of admission and / or an offer of scholarship support , you are required to formally accept or decline the offer ( s ).
