Doctor of Philosophy ( in the area of Medicinal Chemistry ) Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at ABASYN University Peshawar , Pakistan .
Shafi ’ s graduate research tackled chemotherapy resistance , a major challenge in breast cancer treatment . Using a hybrid virtual screening , synthesis , and biological evaluation method , he identified a few compounds that could be used in treatment . He also synthesised a new and potentially cost-effective fluorescence probe for breast cancer screening .
