Meet the English language requirements of the University (Monash English Bridging is accepted).
• A bachelor’s degree requiring at least four years of full-time study which includes a significant research component in the fourth year, leading to an honours degree class 1, 2A or upper 2B
(with an overall mark of at least 65%) from a recognised tertiary institution; or
• Completion of Postgraduate Diploma in Biomedical Science with honours degree class 1, 2A or upper 2B (with an overall mark of at least 65%); or
• A master’s degree in a related discipline, including a significant research component, at least equivalent to an Australian honours degree. It is expected that at a minimum, a grade of upper
2B (with an overall mark of 65 or above) has been obtained for the research thesis; or
• Qualifications deemed equivalent by Monash Graduate Education and Monash Graduate Research Office; and
• Meet the English language requirements of the University.
• Graduates who have completed their bachelor’s degree from a three-year full-time program in a relevant field and who have not attempted honours in that field. Applicants must have
an average of 60% or higher in at least 24 points of third-year-level relevant units; or
• Qualifications deemed equivalent by Monash University; and
• Meet the English language requirements of the University.

• Either a bachelor’s degree requiring at least four years of full-time study, and which normally includes a research component in the fourth year with upper H2B (a mark of 65 or above) in
an honours year in a relevant field; or
• A master’s degree in a relevant field that entails work, normally including a significant research component, at least equivalent to an honours degree (a ‘significant research component’ in
a master’s degree will vary from discipline to discipline). It is normally expected that at a minimum, a grade of upper 2B (with an overall mark of at least 65 or above) has been obtained for the
research thesis or project. Where ungraded, examiners’ reports will be taken into account; or
• Have qualifications which in the opinion of the Graduate Research Committee are deemed equivalent.
• You must also satisfy the University’s minimum English language proficiency requirements for admission to this research degree.
School of Business
• A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from Monash University requiring at least four years of full-time study, which normally includes a research component in the fourth year, leading to
an honours degree at H1 or H2A level; or
• A course leading to a masters preliminary qualification at a level rated by the relevant department, school and committee as equivalent to an honours class 1 or 2A degree; or
• A master’s degree in a related discipline, including a significant research component, at least equivalent to an Australian honours degree (a full-time year of research and an examined thesis).

School of Information Technology
• A bachelor’s degree with honours class 1 or 2A; or
• Qualifications which in the opinion of the Monash Graduate Research Office (MGRO) are equivalent or a satisfactory substitute. Prospective research candidates are expected to have identified
a certain research area of interest prior to applying. They are required to discuss the proposed research project, as well as availability of supervision and facility to conduct research with the school.
• Meet the English language requirements of the University.
• A bachelor’s degree requiring at least four years of full-time study in a relevant field, and which normally includes a research component in the fourth year, leading to an honours 1 or 2A in
a relevant field;
• A course leading to a level rated by the relevant department, faculty and committee as equivalent to an honours 1 or 2A in a relevant field; or
• A master’s degree that entails work, normally including a significant research component, including at least 25% of one full-time equivalent year of work, including a thesis. It is normally
expected that a grade of honours 2A has been obtained for the research thesis or project. Where ungraded, examiner’s reports will be taken into account; or
• Have qualifications which in the opinion of the Graduate Research Committee and Monash Graduate Research Office are deemed equivalent.
