As the Malaysian campus of a premier research-intensive

Our researchers are part of an international research consortium which
has been awarded an AUD $14 million grant from Wellcome Trust. This
Monash-led research project will potentially improve the lives of more than
a billion people living in urban slums globally by transforming water
infrastructure, water management, and sanitation practices.
Combating dengue in Southeast Asia
This surveillance study contributed towards a greater understanding of
dengue-like illnesses and the different strains of dengue virus serotypes in
Southeast Asia. Health authorities are using the data as guidance in
managing the rates of other common infections such as influenza, and of
emerging infections like zika and chikungunya.
Supporting the Malaysian economy
Monash’s Malaysian Business Sentiment Survey produced critical insights
into market conditions and consumer sentiment, the impact of emerging
technologies, regulatory environment, and the range of capabilities needed
for local firms to transition to high value added economy. These findings
are allowing senior leaders to reflect on key strategies and issues that are
impacting their businesses.
