SPOTLIGHT AAA FIVE- AND FOUR-DIAMOND DESIGNATIONS
Two Mexican resorts have maintained their AAA Diamond awards while adding their restaurants to this hallowed list. Impression Moxché by Secrets has received the AAA Five Diamond Award— the highest AAA rating possible— consecutively since 2023, an achievement won by fewer than 1 % of AAA hotels. Its restaurant, Teodoro, won the same award for the first time this year in recognition of its seven-course tasting menu. Meanwhile, the equally luxurious Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen has maintained its AAA Four Diamond rating while its French restaurant, Bisou, earned the same award for the first time. As well as impeccable dining, this hotel offers plenty of evening entertainment in the form of live music, themed events and beach parties. Is planning a trip just as rewarding as the trip itself? According to a recent study conducted by Talker Research in partnership with the Virgin Red Rewards Mastercard, 68 % of Americans say that anticipation about their next vacation is as good as the actual trip itself. More than a quarter of respondents said that organizing the trip is the best aspect of travel, while somewhat unsurprisingly, 78 % said that heading home is the worst part. The pleasure of anticipation inspires 31 % of Americans to think about their next trip while they are still on vacation. In addition, the average survey respondent is thinking about four trips and has two of them already planned, with seven in 10 saying that ideas for their next trip are constantly on their mind. Of those Americans who travel, 56 % said that having a vacation on the horizon benefits them because it gives them something to look forward to.
