SINGAPORE ACHIEVES SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATION
Singapore has become the latest country to be certified as a sustainable global destination
The Global Sustainable Tourism Council recently certified Singapore as a sustainable country , after being the first country to apply under the GSTC- Destination criteria . For eco- and socially conscious travelers , the small Southeast Asian country can offer a greener jaunt , having been certified on the basis of its commitment to socioeconomic , cultural and environmental sustainability . Singapore — a city-state of six million people — is home to lush inner-city gardens and carefully preserved cultural enclaves that offer travelers an up-close look at the region ’ s natural biodiversity and rich history . Nature-loving travelers can enjoy the city ’ s 1.5 million plants , from all around the world , on display in Gardens by the Bay , or take a short ferry out to Pulau Ubin to paddleboard through mangroves .

Xcaret doubles sustainability efforts Mexican resort and theme park operator Xcaret Group is encouraging guests to behave responsibly by introducing a number of wildlife conservation projects and social initiatives at its locations in Quintana Roo , in southern Mexico .
