SINGAPORE ACHIEVES SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATION
Singapore has become the latest country to be certified as a sustainable global destination
The Global Sustainable Tourism Council recently certified Singapore as a sustainable country , after being the first country to apply under the GSTC- Destination criteria . For eco- and socially conscious travellers , the small Southeast Asian country can offer a greener jaunt , having been certified on the basis of its commitment to socioeconomic , cultural and environmental sustainability . Singapore — a city-state of six million people — is home to lush inner-city gardens and carefully preserved cultural enclaves that offer travellers an up-close look at the region ’ s natural biodiversity and rich history . Nature-loving travellers can enjoy the city ’ s 1.5 million plants , from all around the world , on display in Gardens by the Bay , or take a short ferry out to Pulau Ubin to paddleboard through mangroves .
Holland America Line launches Legendary Voyages A new set of routes will head to the farthest reaches of the traversable world on 25- to 59- day journeys . New destinations include the South Pacific , the Amazon Rainforest and the Arctic Circle . There , passengers can disembark in some of the world ’ s remotest ports .
Princess Cruises introduces new routes in 2025 In 2025 , Princess Cruises is heading to South America and Antarctica . The voyage takes in tango in the streets of Buenos Aires , Rio de Janeiro ’ s iconic shorefront and the Antarctic tundra that stretches from the tip of Tierra del Fuego .
Xcaret doubles sustainability efforts Mexican resort and theme park operator Xcaret Group is encouraging guests to behave responsibly by introducing a number of wildlife conservation projects and social initiatives at its locations in Quintana Roo , in southern Mexico .
