The bay ’ s leading lady , its namesake town of Kotor , is wedged in one of the prettiest coves , cut from the foothills of Mount Lovcen . Venetian-era fortifications — including three miles of restored defensive walls — give it a Game of Thrones-esque appeal . Kotor ’ s signature cobbled lanes open onto pretty squares , culminating with the frescoed St . Tryphon Cathedral .
