ROCK GARDEN OF CHANDIGARH , INDIA Nicknamed ‘ Nek Chand ’ s Rock Garden ,’ for its founder , this 40-acre display is made entirely from recycled elements . The sculptures here — which make use of discarded ceramics , stones and other materials — depict an Indian village . Vegetation and water features vividly bring the space to life .

, BRAZIL This contemporary art museum in Minas Gerais sits in lush botanical gardens filled with 700 works created by more than 60 artists from some 40 countries . The museum houses a mixture of inspiring large-scale works , sculptures , photography and more to educate visitors about the bond between art and nature .

SWITZERLAND Hidden in the Jura mountains , the historic Kloster Schoenthal Monastery ’ s spectacular sculpture collection comprises work by both international and Swiss artists .
