TASTES OF PARK CITY
Le Depot Brasserie Plates of crab remoulade, duck confit and steak frites honour traditional recipes at this Parisian-inspired eatery, the foundation of Park City’ s‘ French Quarter’. On Fridays during summer months, James Beard Foundation award-winner Galen Zamarra hosts revellers on the patio of sister property Union Patisserie for Apero happy hour.
High West Saloon This lively ski-in, ski-out saloon comes with an on-site distillery, and it’ s where guests order their swig of award-winning whiskey in a‘ shot ski’. As part of this drinking tradition born out of Utah’ s skiing culture, four shot glasses are fixed in a row on an actual ski( minus the bindings). The drinkers then stand in line and, in unison, lift the ski to take their shots.
Glitretind Sunday brunch at Glitretind Restaurant at Stein Eriksen Lodge is a feast as staggering as the scenery. Sweeping views from the glass-walled Alpenglobes complement an opulent buffet of carving stations. Expect the likes of prime rib and osso buco, an omelette bar and a shellfish tower with cracked lobster, Alaskan king crab and oysters on the half shell. Ask for a Bananas Foster crêpe with brown sugar and cinnamon topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Riverhorse on Main Start with the curried cauliflower and follow with the trio of wild game for seasoned cuts of buffalo, venison and elk, accented by buttery potatoes and stewed huckleberries. Be sure to save room for the local peach crumble to top it all off.
