Glass-dome coaches
Rocky Mountaineer offers two services , GoldLeaf or SilverLeaf . While both provide panoramic views , GoldLeaf has seating on the top of a bi-level coach with a sleek , glass-dome ceiling . There ’ s also an outdoor viewing platform that ’ s perfect for snapping pictures of the spectacular landscapes and colorful rock formations , and spotting the likes of eagles , bighorn sheep , elk and grizzlies .
Local cuisine
The menu , drawing on locally sourced ingredients , spans breakfast , lunch and unlimited snacks . All beverages , even alcohol , are included and unlimited . For breakfast , options might include eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon , or lemon and honey buttermilk pancakes with Okanagan stone fruit compote and Quebec maple syrup . A three-course lunch might include sustainably sourced salmon or Arctic char paired with wine from the Okanagan Valley .
Expert hosts and guides
Friendly hosts ( four per railcar on GoldLeaf ) elevate the experience with their attentive service and expertise . They point out the main attractions on the route , like the Spiral Tunnels ( dating from 1909 ) and Craigellachie , the spot where the last spike was driven into the Canadian Pacific Railway . Rocky Mountaineer also partners with tour and transportation providers at destinations to offer a selection of add-on opportunities . images : rocky mountaineer
