A Q & A with Tracie
Tracie grew up in Newnan , Georgia and spent every summer on Lake Burton at her grandfather ’ s cabin and later at her parents cabin . Today , she and her husband Andy enjoy their own home on Lake Burton . They love the mountains and lakes of Rabun County and Tracie spends her spare time on two of her favorite hobbies , gardening and entertaining .
Tracie earned a BS in Biology from the University of North Georgia , worked as a Delta Airlines Flight Attendant until she married and began her next career as a Sales Rep . for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals . When her children , Baylor and Drew , entered the world , Tracie ’ s life called to change to full time mom until they left home to attend Clemson University . Soon after Tracie and Andy moved to Clemson , SC and Tracie started her career as a Realtor .
Tracie calls Rabun County “ God ’ s Country ” and feels so blessed to be a part of it ! Q . What is your favorite Christmas memory ?
A . My favorite Christmas memory is when my 2 children , Baylor and Drew , who were 2 and 3 years old at the time , woke up Christmas morning and ran down stairs to see if Santa ’ s Reindeer had eaten the carrots we had thrown out for them the night before . The look on their eyes was priceless when they noticed some of the carrots that remained had the reindeer ’ s teeth marks on them . So fun !
Q . Do you have a gift that just stands out as your favorite ? A . My most memorable gift was waking up to a puppy in a box !
Q . What ’ s your favorite Christmas Carol ? A . O Holy Night
Q . What part did you play in the annual Christmas play ? A . I was a cow !
Q . What is your holiday decorating style ? A . I am a sweet and simple decorator !
Q . What Christmas tradition does your family have ? A . My daughter and I cook Christmas dinner while my husband and son go fishing each year .
Q . Do you have a recipe you ’ d like to share ? A . Yes , my turkey breast .
Marinated Turkey Breast
7lb . or larger turkey breast 1 cup apple cider vinegar ½ cup olive oil ½ cup chopped parsley ¼ cup salt ¼ cup pepper
Place turkey in an oven bag . Mix all ingredients and pour over turkey . Bake 4-5 hours on 300 degrees .
