Its mission is to bring innovation to the handcraft industry, while promoting it as a profession with future. The focus is on design as a means by which to boost the traditional handcrafts of the Algarve, while maintaining their usefulness and cultural character. They seek to salvage ancestral techniques in danger of extinction because of mass production.
A AVÓ VEIO TRABALHAR
A Avó Veio Trabalhar é uma hub criativa intergeracional, onde os laços sociais e emocionais são tricotados na comunidade local e onde os mais velhos podem ser eles próprios. A Susana e o Ângelo são os membros fundadores e vêem a idade como um super-poder, responsabilizando as pessoas com quem trabalham, reconhecendo seus talentos e destacando a sua singularidade.
Grandma Came to Work is an intergenerational creative hub, were social and emotional bonds are knitted in the local community and where elderly people can just be themselves. Susana and Ângelo are the founding members and want to use age as a superpower, empowering the people we work with, recognizing their talents and highlighting their uniqueness.
