The first requirement to take into account when renovating the room of the little ones is always to accompany the growth of children, because the age changes and with it the tastes and accessories.

Changing the decoration of the room without spending a lot of money is possible, just look for cheaper solutions that are equally practical, beautiful and with the same end result. Beautiful wallpaper can completely transform the look of the space, such as new pillows or curtains. So let's get to what matters?!

The first point to consider, as mentioned before, is always to be aware of the age and gender of the child. It is important to never forget their daily routines, such as resting space, hygiene, study and fun. We can add to this point that the space must have plenty of light and natural ventilation, as well as being strictly safe (socket and extension protection, corner protector, door brake and window safety stops).

In the second point we have the floors and the coverings. All materials should be easily washable without major maintenance, must be protected against scratches and stains and be soft to the touch. Here we talk about wood floors, washable, slate effect paints or magnetic paints, wallpaper or vinyl.

We now come to a part that should not be overlooked, the colors. It is scientifically proven that colors influence the emotional, creative and cognitive state of children, so it is recommended to choose color according to the age range of the little ones. For babies who are sensitive to their surroundings, use soft, light colors such as blue, pink, green, earth tones, whites and gray. Between the ages of 3 and 7, when the brain becomes most active and creative, vibrant tones are most recommended as it stimulate cognitive development. Between 8 and 12 years, phase of the exploration of their own personality and independence, the darkest and neutral tones are the most indicated.

How to choose the best furniture? The furniture can be new or a renovation of the existing one, from wardrobes, chests of drawers, shelves, desks, where a simple change of color or handles may be enough. Remember that the room should be organized for toys, books and clothes, practical and free of danger.

Textiles and accessories are now the key point to combine the whole theme of the room. It's time to choose the carpets, bedspread, curtains, cushions, boxes, hangers, photographs, posters, frames, which can have works by the child, folding screens, etc., giving personality to the space with children's animated, geometric, striped or floral themes.

The icing on the cake is the lighting. The little ones need different types of lighting depending on the activity being developed. There must be a main ceiling illumination (a spot or multi-spot) and different lighting for each zone created. At the bedside table you should opt for a more intimate light for story reading and the study areas should have a direct light to facilitate concentration. A nightlight may be required for younger children who are afraid of the dark and dimmer lighting is useful for some tasks.

We hope these tips can be very helpful in turning a simple room into a dream room where children can grow up happy.
