A 32ª edição da FIAM, em Valência, realizada entre 22 e 27 de Setembro de 1997, teve um total de 271 expositores, sendo 55 de nacionalidade estrangeira.
As empresas apresentaram as suas colecções e novas criações na área da iluminação de interiores, tais como: candeeiros de mesa, de parede, de chão, de suspensão e plafonds.
A FIAM era uma das feiras internacionais mais importantes da Europa na área da iluminação e Espanha o cliente principal de Portugal; era fulcral que as empresas Portuguesas estivessem presentes. Esta participação iria, não só promover o sector, como impulsionar as exportações dos fabricantes.
Foi precisamente em 1997, pela primeira vez, que a AIPI organizou a participação de 20 empresas de iluminação Portuguesas. O primeiro grande trabalho conjunto que veio afirmar um sector com potencialidades ainda por explorar.
The 32nd edition of FIAM, in Valencia, held between 22 and 27 September 1997, had a total of 271 exhibitors, 55 of which were foreign nationals.
The companies presented their collections and new creations in the area of interior lighting, such as: table lamps, wall lamps, floor lamps, suspension lamps and ceiling lights.
FIAM was one of the most important international fairs in Europe in the field of lighting and Spain was Portugal's main customer; it was crucial that Portuguese companies were present. This participation would not only promote the sector, but also boost manufacturers' exports.
It was precisely in 1997, for the first time, that AIPI organized the participation of 20 Portuguese lighting companies. The first major joint work that came to affirm a sector with potential yet to be explored.
