So, it is important to make companies aware of the dangers inherent to cybersecurity. Thus, the cybersecurity area will be one of the priority focuses at the investment level in 2022, being one of the areas in which ActiveSys works with clients, with the aim of assisting in the prevention of cyberattacks.

Cybersecurity is defined as a set of prevention, monitoring, detention, reaction, analysis and correction actions aimed at protecting computers, networks, applications and data from any technological damage and illicit invasions, thus avoiding, in this way, damages of another scale and, likewise, guaranteeing the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, digital networks, information systems in cyberspace and the people who interact in it.

In this context, there are three types of cyber threats:

Virtual Crime- individuals or groups targeting systems for financial gain or causing disruptions at the operational level.

Cyber Attack- involves information gathering, often politically motivated.

Cyber Terrorism- aims to weaken electronic systems to cause panic or fear.

Within these threats, there are different types of cyber attacks, most commonly ransomware, the most popular form of malware. In 2021, the most relevant cyber attacks were scams, phishing, smishing, CEO Fraud and disclosure of private data and photos.

These attacks on organisational environments can render companies inoperable, destroy the trust that customers and suppliers have in the company, potentially resulting in incalculable monetary losses, and reputational damage that can be irreversible.

" (..) in 2021 Portuguese organisations were attacked on average 881 times per week, which represented an 81% increase compared to 2020."
