Floral Pageant

The Flower Festival is one of the most vivid and most popular events in Madeira, taking place each year in April or May. And it never fails to stimulate the senses, both visually and aromatically.

Flowers have been a fundamental feature of the landscape of Madeira for many years, as its mild climate allows for a wide diversity of plants to bloom everywhere. Since 1979, Funchal has celebrated the arrival of spring by paying a tribute to flowers with its colourful and delightful Flower Festival.
