Ireland is rightfully known for the warmth of its people , the festive atmosphere of its pubs , and for a remarkable culture that in the last one hundred twenty years has produced some of the most acclaimed authors in the world . Less well known is that visitors to Ireland can connect with nature and animals in some unique ways .
One of the most scenic and dramatic equine adventures is to go horse riding on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean , which can be done just north and northwest of Galway on Ireland ’ s western coast . Maycullen Riding Centre can conduct these excursions , as well as along other sites . They are located in what is farmland just north of Galway .
