ATLANTA ATHLETIC CLUB By John Companiotte Photography : Dave Sansom Photography

The Atlanta Athletic Club ( AAC ) has one of the most distinguished heritages in all of golf . As the club where Bobby Jones first learned golf , and as a host to many championships through the years , including the US Open and PGA Championship , the club is among the most historic in America .
Jones was definitely a prodigy . At age 13 , he won the club championship at Druid Hills Golf Club . Then in 1916 , at age 14 , he won the first Georgia State Amateur Championship , which brought him to the attention of the USGA , earning him an invitation that year to participate in the US Amateur at Merion in Philadelphia . In 1930 , at age 28 , he accomplished an unequalled feat , winning four major championships in one year : the US Open , the US Amateur , the British Amateur , and the British Open , since called the Grand Slam .
