1995 , Fazio became the second course architect to receive the Old Tom Morris Award — the highest recognition awarded by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America . His golf course designs regularly host professional events , among them Quail Hollow in Charlotte .
Todd Mrowice in an article for the web site Golflink described the key elements of Fazio ’ s design style . “ Tom Fazio courses are perhaps some of the easiest to attribute to their architect ,” wrote Mrowice . “ Fazio frequently worked under a budget-less umbrella , which is why his resume includes
