HYDROPLANE
Water has shaped this planet over millennia. Glacial
drift has scoured the plains, and upon melting,
created morraine fields. Streams flow towards
larger bodies of water, carrying sediment carved
out of the earth, and depositing it upon merging
with larger, slower bodies of water to form deltas.
Meandering rivers form cut-banks and eventually
ox-bow lakes. Shores are constantly being eroded
by the lapping of waves; softer geologies are worn
away first, leaving colossal monuments to time
and persistence. Canyons are carved by unyielding
flows.

The temporal nature of water is multi-scalar,
yet water endures, changing form, and passing
through all of life’s systems. In hydroplane, visitors
become water. By moving through the space they
affect its form, creating volume that follows lines
of desire. Fog-filled cells are illuminated as visitors
pass by so that each individual can sense their
effect. And as if the plane was a cloud, mist falls to
the ground to cool guests while rain events move
through the space, avoiding visitors and creating a
fun game for children
