Porter Strat® Style Pickups
Porter 1950's Strat® set features staggered AlNiCo 5 magnets and are wound with same spec heavy forvmar coated 42 AWG wire used on the real 50's pickups. These pickups aren't too hot and most find them just right for many classic single coil sounds that have become so famous in the old recordings. Our 50's set is a tribute to the single coil tones than have become legendary.
Porter 1960's Strat® set features staggered AlNiCo 5 magnets and are wound with the same spec dark purple 42 AWG wire used on vintage 60's pickups. With these pickups, you get the classic tones of the 60's, and they are great with everything from blues to classic rock and soloing. Nice even tones, and a killer vintage vibe. For the vintage 60's diehards, these pickups are made just for you.
Porter Modern Strat® sets are wound slightly hotter than our other sets, giving you just a bit more when soloing and playing rock. They are wound with 42 AWG plain enamel poly coated wire, resulting in tones that are brighter and more edgy. The Modern's are good for a variety of styles, and are especially recommended for tonally balancing a guitar with a rosewood fretboard, or one that has a darker body wood (like Mahogany). These pickups are bright with a maple fretboard, but provide a nice snappy tone.
