Bio: Hard-working centre-forward who enjoys a popular status amongst the club’s supporters,
Martin returned to the GenQuip Stadium in January 2013 following a short-lived spell at Llanelli
and will be hoping to be amongst the goals once again next season.
Carl Payne #10
MIDFIELD

Previous clubs: Afan Lido
Bio: Enjoyed a successful debut season at Port Talbot after impressing in his first season in the
WPL, whilst playing for neighbours Afan Lido. A busy midfielder with an eye for goal, Carl
scored in both league fixtures against his former club to ensure his popularity amongst the
club’s fans. Carl will be looking to continue his development under Scott Young once again this
season.
Lee John #11
MIDFIELD
Date of Birth: 05/02/83
Last season: 25(3) apps, 3 goals
Previous clubs: Haverfordwest County, Neath FC, Newport County
Bio: Long-serving midfielder who holds the club record for number of WPL appearances, with
th
over 260 appearances. The forthcoming campaign will mark Lee’s 10 season at Port Talbot.
Lee also became the club’s first full-time employee last year, heading the club’s successful
Football in the Community project.
Leigh De-Vulgt #12
DEFENCE
Date of Birth: 10/03/81
Last season: 13 (3) apps, 1 goal
Previous clubs: Swansea City, Llanelli AFC, Carmarthen Town
Bio: A former professional at hometown side Swansea City, Leigh signed from Carmarthen
Town in 2004 and this season reaches a milestone of ten successive seasons at Port Talbot.
During that time Leigh has racked up over 230 league appearances, where he has been
predominantly used in defence and also occasionally in midfield. His professionalism and
experience have made him a well respected figure at the club, Leigh has played a significant
role in the club’s progress in the WPL over recent years.
Josh Bell #13
FORWARD
Date of Birth: 19/05/89

Previous clubs: Bristol Rovers, Barry Town, Bridgend Town
Bio: Signed ahead of the 2013/14 campaign after impressing whilst on trial at the club, Josh is
set for his first season in the Welsh top-flight. An injury set-back limited Josh’s appearances for
previous club Bridgend in 2012/13 but now fully-fit, he is looking to make his mark in the WPL.
