PORT TALBOT TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB
2013/14 Meet the Squad
Scott Young
DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL
Bio: Scott Young initially arrived at the club in July 2012 as first-team coach, joining from AFC
Porth but was appointed as Director of Football in December 2012 following the departure of
Mark Jones. Scott enjoyed an illustrious playing career as a one-club man at his beloved Cardiff
City until a persistent back injury ended his professional career ended in 2003/4. He attempted
a brief return the following season, signing for Newport County first as a player and then as
assistant manager. Young was capped by Wales at under-21 and B international level. He also
received a call-up to the full Wales in March 2002 but remained on the bench during a 0-0
draw with Czech Republic.
