This same time of year exactly one year
ago I was in the same place as Cristin. I
didn't know if I wanted to do honors
college anymore, because my math
classes were harder than I expected,
and I was not doing so well in them.
Cristin expressed to me the same
concerns I to Dr. Duncan. After giving
her some encouragement and words of
wisdom she felt better about
completing both her math degree and
the honors college program in her 2
years left at HU. Just taking the time
to sit down and look at everything that
had to be done with an open mind was a
big help said Cristin.
With all the stress of completing our
Honors College as well as graduating
on time as a math major Cristin and I
were able to have a fun night out for
sophomore junior week. This was a
time to not think about all the work
that needs to be done, but relax and
have fun with friends.
I have encouraged Cristin to stay in the
family. She says she will do it, because it
pushes her even more to keep her GPA
above a 3.2. Because we have multiple
classes together we are going to make more
of an effort to work together, and be there
to support one another in this journey.
