The Texas Rangers and HKS released revised
STORY renderings for the 1.7-million-
square-foot ballpark in late September, providing the public with even more images
of the field, roof and concourse levels. Days later, the Arlington City Council, Texas
Rangers leadership and Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred, joined
by hundreds of community members, gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of
the ballpark project.
Shortly afterward, the real dirt turning began. Manhattan Construction Company
kicked off a five-month project to excavate and haul off approximately 1.3 million
cubic feet of dirt from the site.
Significant progress was also made
during the year on the Texas Live!
entertainment complex, which broke
ground in March. The $250-million
development, located between AT&T
Stadium and the future Globe Life Field,
is being built by the Texas Rangers and
the team’s development partner, The
Cordish Companies. Texas Live!, which
will be anchored by a $150-million
flagship Live! by Loews luxury hotel, will
feature restaurants, retail and indoor
and outdoor entertainment spaces.
Texas Live! will house more than
200,000 square feet of best-in-class
restaurants, retail and entertainment,
as well as a 5,000-capacity outdoor
event pavilion when it debuts next
year. The project will further cement
The Americ an Dream City as one of
the premier sports, entertainment and
hospitality destinations in the country
for decades to come.
