MEET A COSPLAYER
TIFFANY BREWSTER
Pop Boom Entertainment: So how are you this evening? How long have you been cosplaying?
Tiffany Brewster:Currently I am making a list of things I need to get for my up and coming cosplay for AK14. I have been cosplaying for over I believe 4-5 years now.
How do you choose what character you cosplay as?
If I love the character and I know I can make their attire then yes I will definitely cosplay that character.
What was your first cosplay?
*smiles* Ohhh I did a crossplay Grimmjow Jaggerjaques from Bleach and that was when it
started. I mean the first cosplay is not always the best. I did not have the hair colour at all right
since it was this short black wig and I tried to spray blue hair colour spray in it but it did not turn out well. I did not have the eye colour nor the sword right, but I did get everything else to
look similar to his attire but with
feminine flare.
What was the hardest costume you’ve
made so far?
I would have to say Loki for sure.
Finding a suit jacket that can fit
my small size is hard in this country
and not to mention finding the right type of wig too. This cosplay shocked me since I chose to do Loki when he was in Marvel's The Avengers when he was in the suit in Stuttgart, but surprisingly it was tough. You would think Juri-han from Super Street Fighter 4 was going to be hard but infact it was quite easy but tedious as cosplays are.
What is your favorite costume that you own?
Juri-Han is my favourite for the time until AK14, since I did not expect to get it done at all and it was fun to be her.
What are other cosplay characters have you done in the past?
L.Lawliet from Death Note, Misty from Pokemon, Vincent Valentine CrossPlay from Final Fantasy vii Nelliel tu Odelschwanck ( adult version), Ms Fortune from SkullGirls. Knives from Scott Pilgrim vs The World and Matt from DeathNote ( Summer Time version)
I was at a meeting earlier and we were discussing cosplayers and you were the one everyone was buzzing about. They can't wait to see what you are doing next. So...no pressure
Me?Why?What did I do? There is ALWAYS pressure and this year I am doing a surprise again since I enjoyed the Juri-han surprise last year. I can give you two hints though, both cosplays are girls and not crossplay and both use weapons.
Why you? You always bring it. I am seriously excited and curious to what you will be doing but knowing there will be weapons I am even more excited.
I see. I just cosplay and enjoy myself. I make
sure I get as close as possible to the character I want to do. I just do not want to make a costume and wear. I want to be that character. That means getting all the material I can on that character. If the character is from a video game and they have a special stance or moves? I want to have it down to a T. Plus characterization is key in cosplay for me.
