Horses are synonymous with freedom, strength and powerful energy, but
at the same time they are supremely gentle, kind and in touch with humans
– they pass on their messages to us with dignity and grace. The time spent
with horses has the ability to heal the imbalances of modern life and
various illnesses, their greater wisdom carries many gifts. Just being in
the presence of horses helps one feel a higher sense of emotional, physical
and spiritual well-being and increases our sensory awareness, which I love feeling while I’m
photographing. Magic definitely arrived on horseback the afternoon I captured Ben and Helene
getting to know each other in the Noordhoek Wetlands, they drew the beauty and love out of each
other with gentle acceptance of each others weaknesses and strengths.
I use my love and passion for photography to capture beauty and create special awareness in the
world. During a photoshoot I try keep all my senses wide open, really living each moment, which
I hope is reflected in my images. Interacting with nature and animals nourishes my creativity and
the way I see things through my lens, which I am forever grateful for. Thank you Helene and Ben
