POLO EXCLUSIVE 2017 EDITION 124th Polo Open | Page 9
Sunday was a beautiful sunny day, one would say the kind of perfect weather to play or enjoy
great polo. In the early afternoon, two more powerhouses would face each other, both
competing in the Zone B qualifiers; the first match would measure up Cría Yatay against
Chapaleufú; while the second match would see the likes of Alegría (led by Hilario Ulloa) vs. La
Dolfina Polo Ranch.
During the first match, Chapaleufu started out with a game based on speed on attack, a
strategy aimed at puzzling their opponent, an intelligent scheme that at first, seem to work in
their favor, allowing them to score three goals in two chukkers. However, Cria Yatay was also
there to play, and play they did. Working as a unified team, their tactic of gaining momentum
on forward attack and full on guard upon defense proved to be brilliant. By the end of the
match, Cria Yatay had defeated Chapaleufu 18-8.
