Goalkeepers:
Allan McGregor:
The 32 year-old has played 26 times for Hull since signed for the club last summer after spending a season with Turkish club Besiktas. McGregor spent 11 years at Rangers prior to making his move to Besiktas. He played 205 times for the club, winning the SPL 3 times, the Scottish Cup 3 times and the Scottish League Cup 5 times.
Eldin Jakupovic:
The Swiss keeper has found first team chances hard to come by at Hull, making just 5 appearances for the club. In fact, Jakupovic has made more appearances for Leyton Orient (13) whilst being a Hull City player. Before joining Hull in 2012, he had spells with Grasshopper, FC Thun, Lokomotiv Moscow, Olympiakos Volou and Aris.
Steve Harper:
The veteran goalkeeper signed for Hull in the summer on a free agent having spent 20 years at Newcastle. He played 199 times in his time with Newcastle and has made 16 appearances this season for Hull in all competitions.
Defenders:
Liam Rosenior:
Rosenior signed for Hull on a free transfer in October 2010 and has made 126 appearances for the club. He started his career at Bristol City before spending 4 years in the Premier League with Fulham. He then moved to Reading in a part exchange deal for Seol Ki-Hyeon in 2007. He played 27 times in a loan deal at Ipswich before Hull pulled off a real transfer coup by signing him.
Maynor Figueroa:
The Honduran international reunited with manager Steve Bruce in the summer after arriving on a free transfer from relegated Wigan Athletic. Figueroa moved to England in 2008 where he made the switch to Wigan, originally on loan. The defender made 167 appearances for The Latics.
Alex Bruce:
Son of manager, Steve Bruce, Alex moved to Hull on the start of their 2012/13 promotion campaign, shortly after his dad had been made manager of the club, after impressing during a pre-season trial. Bruce, who also played under his dad at Birmingham, joined the club having already played for Ipswich, Leicester, Leeds and Huddersfield.
James Chester:
A product of Man United’s academy, Chester moved to Hull in January 2011 after a successful string of loan spells at Peterborough, Plymouth and Carlisle. He moved to The KC Stadium for a fee believed to be around £300,000, he moved despite expressing his interest to move extend is stay at Carlisle. He has made 130 appearances in his 4 seasons at Hull, scoring 5 goals in the process.
Joe Dudgeon:
Yet another former Manchester United youngster, Dudgeon failed to register an appearance for The Reds and went on loan to Carlisle before joining Hull. After signing for Hull, Dudgeon in and out of the Tigers team before suffering a season ending injury. The defender has not regained his first-team place since their promotion to the Premier League.
Abdoulaye Faye:
Hull looked to have pulled off a real coup when signing Faye in July 2012. The big centre-half is vastly experienced, having played for Bolton, Newcastle, Stoke and West Ham before joining The Tigers. Before moving to England, the Senegalese international played for Itres, Lens, Jeanne d’Arc and ASEC.
Midfielders:
David Meyler:
A product of the Cork City academy, Meyler joined Sunderland in 2008 before permanently joining Hull 5 years later. Meyler made just 25 appearances in 4 years at Sunderland before joining the Tigers on loan in November 2012, being reunited with former manager Steve Bruce. Meyler helped secure promotion for Hull last season and has made 42 appearances for the club.
Tom Huddlestone:
Making his debut at the age of 16, Huddlestone went on to play 95 times for Derby before making his switch to Tottenham in 2005. He was immediately loan out to Wolves before making 209 appearances for Spurs in all competitions before joining Hull in the summer for a fee of around £5.25 million. He has since made 31 appearances for The Tigers, scoring 3 times.
Robbie Brady:
The 22 year-old signed a permanent deal for Hull in January 2013 after having 2 loans for the club spanning 18 months. The youngster came through the Manchester United academy before joining Hull. The Irishman has scored 11 goals in 92 appearances as a Tigers player.
Jake Livermore:
The on loan 24 year-old star has had an endless string of loan moves in between making 36 first-team appearances for parent club Tottenham. The midfielder has had loan moves at Milton Keynes Dons, Crewe Alexandra, Derby County, Peterborough United, Ipswich Town and Leeds United before making his loan switch to Hull in the summer. Livermore has scored 3 times in 31 appearances for Hull.
George Boyd:
Boyd signed for Hull on loan in February 2013, before singing permanently in the summer, as a result of his switch to Nottingham Forest being stopped after her allegedly failed an eye test. Before joining Hull, Boyd played for Peterborough for 5 seasons, overseeing the club getting promoted twice. Earlier on in his career, Boyd managed 123 appearances for Stevenage.
Ahmen Elmohamady:
The Egyptian international finally made his Hull deal permanent after having 2 successful loan deals, accumulating 40 appearances. He has made 34 more appearances this season since making the deal permanent from Sunderland. Elmohamady played 55 times for Sunderland, scoring once in the process.
Stephen Quinn:
Quinn spent 7 years at Sheffield United and was loaned out to MK Dons and Rotherham United before joining Hull in 2012. In his first season at Hull, he helped the club in their promotion to The Premier League and managed to receive players’ player of the season in the process.
Strikers:
Matty Fryatt:
Coming through the ranks at Walsall, Fryatt became at fans favourite for The Saddlers after scoring 27 goals in 45 starts and becoming their player-of-the-season in the process. He then moved to Leicester where he had a particularly impressive season in 2008/09, scoring 32 goals to fire the club back into The Championship before moving to Hull. He has scored 30 goals in 90 appearances Hull.
Nikica Jelavic:
After dropping down the pecking order at Everton, Jelavic signed for Hull in January in a bid to secure their Premier League status. The Croatian played for Hajduk Split, Zulte Waregem and Rapid Wien before enjoying a prolific spell with Rangers. He then joined Everton for £6million and enjoyed a great start for the club. He found first-team starts a rarity once Romelu Lukaku joined The Toffees and requested a transfer before joining The Tigers.
Yannick Sagbo:
The Ivory Coast international has only scored twice since arriving at The KC Stadium, having being sent off in his home debut. He started his career at Monaco but, failed to score for the first team. He later moved to Monaco where his 25 goals in 99 appearances before making his move to Hull.
Sone Aluko:
Aluko has had short spells at Birmingham and Blackpool but, before joining Hull City, his spent most of his career in The SPL. He made 127 appearances in his 4 seasons at Aberdeen and managed to score 13 goals. He made the step up to Rangers in 2011 and scored 12 goals in his lone season there. He has scored 9 goals in his 2 seasons for Hull.
