KC STADIUM
This week, we are travelling to the £44m KC Stadium which was built in 2002 to replace Boothferry Park, Hull City's home for 56 years. The stadium difffers slightly to all modern stadia as the external aestetics of it make it into a bowled shape. rather than the morden curved rectangular. The west stand of the stadium stands out as it has an additional tier on top, in preference to the other three single tiered stands. With Hull City having permission to expand to make the ground to around 34,000 capacity, should this be done over the east stand, the ground would have a Man City-esc feel to it. In a sense, the ground still has a traditional feel to it with away fans being located directly behind the goal whereas, as most modern grounds, it is at the side.
The away fans are housed behind the goal in the North Stand of The K.C. Stadium of the playing area (Picture above). The Baggies have been given a 2,400 allocation but have sold 2,200 of these as of 20th March. The Albion fans will be enjoying some good facilities which includes a good view of the playing area, depsite the stand being slightly set back from the pitch. The stand has a unique structure to it with the concourse having no roof and leading to the back of the stand, so when we're inevitably making an atmoshpere before the game, all the fans out in the stand will be able to hear. Dont worry, alcohol and pies are avaliable on the concourse! However, just a warning, there are some Hull fans that berate away supporters throughout the game which is sometimes unsavoury for some.
