POLE MAG: If you had to describe your style, how would you? TRINIDAD: Amazing. TRINIDAD JAMES POLE MAG: In your latest video “All Gold Everything” you almost look like a hood Jimi Hendrix, so as far as fashion statement how would you describe it? TRINIDAD: Really the “All Gold Everything” is because gold is something I always liked. My dad wore it growing up, so I just always liked gold. But in general, the whole concept of me and gold is the mentality that you carry yourself as a man or a woman. To have a first place mentality—that’s the message I’m really trying to relay in “All Gold Everything”. The video is showing that I can be myself- the same ‘Hood Jimi Hendrix’ with the hood niggas and with white people. I don’t see race, I’m still gon’ be me, I don’t give a f***. POLE MAG: Atlanta has a certain style of music that I think people have just become used to hearing. I spoke with an actual native to the city and they said you while you do personify Atlanta, your music is still different. Do you think that you fit into that Atlanta sound or are you not trying to be associated with that? TRINIDAD: I keep my shit Atlanta all the time. That video was actually shot in Clayton County. Niggas know about that trap, they know what time it is. If you really listen to my lyrics I say “them bad hoes at onyx”. Onyx is a known strip club in Atlanta, and Magic City. I keep it A-Town all the way, but I do it my own way because I’m not like no other nigga, I’m myself. POLE MAG: As an artist, a lot of times they’ll say you degrade the women, but how do you feel about the strippers? TRINIDAD: I respect strippers. When I say ‘shout out to them bad hoes in onyx’, I’m saluting them. I really don’t go to the strip club that much. I only go when I want to tip, when I want to take care of a stripper. They’re at their job so I want to make them happy. I just don’t go to look, that’s gay. They’re doing a service. Growing up it was hard to just see a girl naked, and these women are naked all the time trying to make some money, for real. Some do it for fun, and some do it for real and I respect that. POLE MAG: How has your life changed and what more can we expect? TRINIDAD: I’m busy as shit. I’m doing shows. Whereas I used to doing underground shows, now I’m opening up for Rick Ross, yea life has changed but I don’t let it affect me. It’s just a blessing. I just appreciate my blessings and keep moving and look forward to the next one. I got more visuals coming from the mixtape. I’m just really pushing that really hard so just look forward to it. POLE MAG: Final Thoughts… TRINIDAD: A lot of people, the person they are in the industry is not the person they came in [as]. Some are for the worst and some the better, but most is for the worst. And they’ll tell you their self they don’t like it, but it’s too late now. I’m not going to be that way. And if you’re reading this remember basically if you believe in yourself, then believe in yourself and actually act on it. Don’t say you believe in yourself and don’t act on it. Words are nothing without action. So if you believe in yourself ACT like you do and something will come through. 17
